Dr. Thoenes joined the firm in 1976. For more than 30 years, he represented his clients in patent and trademark prosecution, in opposition proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office, as well as in the enforcement and licensing of industrial property rights. Dr. Thoenes was a court-appointed expert in patent litigation proceedings.

Further, Dr. Thoenes was significantly involved in the training of patent attorney candidates on behalf of the German Patent Bar Association for several years.

Dr. Thoenes is now an advisor to the firm.
