Dr. Burger joined the firm in 2024. His areas of responsibility include the drafting and prosecution of German and European patent applications, as well as preparatory searches and participation in opposition and appeal procedures. His scientific expertise includes the fields of life science, biochemistry and materials science.

Dr. Burger studied Biological Chemistry and Applied Biology at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences and at Shinshu University in Japan. During his doctorate at Shinshu University, he researched materials for tissue engineering based on recombinant proteins and composite materials. His studies and doctorate at Shinshu University were supported by a scholarship from the Japanese government.

Having spent several years abroad, Dr. Burger speaks German and English at a native level and can also communicate in Japanese.
Before joining the firm, Dr. Burger worked for a consulting firm with a focus on communications. There he supported international clients from the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and IT sectors.
